This first epic look of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, in the HIGHLY anticipated Varanasi, directed by SS Rajamouli made the fans go wild. Now, we have another- actually, two incredible looks into her character in the film, and you don’t want to miss this!
As a gift to fans to celebrate Priyanka Chopra’s birthday, noted director SS Rajamouli has released two very special pictures! Taken from the sets of his highly anticipated film Varanasi, the director presents the actress in dark and light, adding the caption, “Grace when she smiles. Fire when she doesn’t. Mandakini… @PriyankaChopra in #Varanasi” 
The epic action-adventure film is said to be a tale spanning thousands of years, from ancient civilizations to the present day, across multiple continents, with characters traversing Antarctica, Africa, and the holy city of Varanasi. Intrigued? Yes, we are!
Earlier, talking about the film, the actress revealed, in answer to the question, “Is this your grand return to Indian cinema or a whole new PCJ era?”, she said, “Hopefully a new era and my return to Indian films. I’m not sure. But I know it will be incredible.”
Talking to Variety, the director shared, “She can be a really kick-ass girl, and she has to be really vulnerable. Very few actors who can do both in the same character. She did a fantastic job, and I’m so happy that I have her on board.”
Recently, on the new Jonas Brothers Podcast, “Hey Jonas”, Priyanka revealed a bit more, “I have been working on it for about 14 months now. But SS Rajamouli is known to take that kind of time to make movies. He called me for this movie, and it’s this epic adventure around the world and in time. It has taken a minute, but I’m so excited about it. I do many amazing slow-motion jumps in it, and that’s all I can say about it.”
Also featuring Mahesh Babu and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles in a film that has story still to be revealed and featuring music composed by Oscar-winning composer MM Keeravani, Varanasi is expected to release in April 2027.
