A lot of new faces are getting ready to hit the big and small screen in 2025 and we have the scoop! In this special feature, Subhash K Jha highlights his picks for the interesting, fresh faces to look out for in 2025!
Loveyappa didn’t set the box office on fire. But Junaid Khan’s performance as a Loverboy addicted to the dark secrets on his phone was suitably hyper. The chemistry between Sridevi’s daughter Khushi and Aamir Khan’s son Junaid in this cute-as-a-button love story, was the highlight among many highlights of the Madhu Mantena production. Loveyapa is the Bobby of our times. And that’s saying a lot.
2. Zahan Kapoor:
A star kid with a breathtaking pedigree. So okay, he made a nondescript debut in Hansal Mehta’s Faraaz, like his grandfather Shashi Kapoor, who went unnoticed in Dharamputra, and what about the biggest superstar of Hindi cinema, Rajesh Khanna? Does anyone remember his debut in Raaz? Zahan made a delayed impact in January 2025 with Applause Entertainment’s clutter-breaking Black Warrant. Here, Zahan strikes gold as a jailor dealing with tough prisoners.
3. Khushi Kapoor:
With her striking looks(she resembles the fiery Mita Vashisht) and her unquestionable antecedents(she is Sridevi’s daughter, no less), Khushi should have made a grand impact in her debut film. But The Archies being what it was, even Sridevi would have been stumped, as she was in her Hindi debut Solva Sawan. But here comes the daughter’s Himmatwala! Khushi’s re-launch in producer Madhu Mantena’s Loveyappa was a whammy.
Not just a chip off the old block. Ibrahim, who makes his debut in Sarzameen directed by Kayoze Irani, is described by someone who has seen him in action as more talented than his father, Saif, his mother, Amrita Singh, and his sister, Sara. Ibrahim also has a great sense of humour, just like his father—a rarity among our actors who take themselves way too seriously. Watch out for the Ibrahim-Khushi pair in Nadaniyaan.
5. Agastya Nanda:
Another casualty of The Archies catastrophe, Agastya Nanda, like his grandfather Amitabh Bachchan, is all set to make a delayed impact with Sriram Raghavan’s moving, engaging soldier’s story Ikkis. Agastya plays war martyr Arun Khetarpal with a winsome acumen. Dharmendra, who plays Agastya’s father, predicts Ikkis would do to Agastya what Zanjeer did to his grandfather.
