Singer Sukhwinder Singh was offered the song titled ‘Babaji ka ghanta’ from Zeishan Quadri’s Meeruthiya Gangsters. But the singer turned down the offer as he found the title improper. When questioned, director Zeishan Qadri confirmed the same saying, “Yes, he (Sukhwinder) was not cool with the title. We were pursuing him for almost 10-15 days, but then everyday he demanded some change the lyrics. I didn’t want to do that so I let him go.” Nevertheless, Quadri found a perfect substitute for Sukhwinder in Divya Kumar, who recently sung the chartbuster song  ‘Jee Karda…’ from Badlapur.

Talking about it, Quadri stated, “Sukhwinder was the first option, but when he turned it down, we approached Divya and he instantly agreed. In fact, he has recorded the song couple of days ago and it has turned out to be really good.”

When asked the debutant director if Meeruthiya Gangsters will be like the other gangster films, he quipped, “The film is all about quirkiness. It’s a very entertaining film unlike other gangster films which are serious and dark. Anurag (Kashyap) saw the film in December and he loved it. In fact, he has edited the film and made it crisper.”
