The music of upcoming comedy movie Bumboo was recently held at BIG FM office in Mumbai. Along with singer Sunidhi Chauhan, music director Santosh Singh, lyricist Shadab Akhtar, director Jagdish Rajpurohit and the cast of the movie Sumit Kaul and Sharat Saxena were present.

Considered the first official remake of a French film, Jagdish clarified, “I don’t consider it a remake, I consider it an adaptation. The important thing is whether you can take something and mold it according to your thoughts into something entertaining.” Talking about the album he said,” (The album has) foot tapping music with high voltage energy in the spirit of the film Bumboo that lingers on long after the songs are heard.” Sumit Kaul, who is a popular TV artist and will be seen in a unique get-up in this movie, isn’t exactly new to comedy. “I enjoy comedy, he said, “ I was four years with Nadiraji and hence did a lot of comedies through plays. So comedy is not new for me.”

Sunidhi Chauhan is considered the queen of item numbers, and her song in the movie, Pinky Punjabi, is already being well appreciated. “Mere liye har gaana khaas hota hai. If you are doing some work then you should do it 100% otherwise there’s no use doing it. I am not working the first time with Santosh – I have worked with him earlier too. I enjoyed working with him and as the video shows it’s a very fun song. I am always happy to be a part of a good song.” The song is being promoted as an anti-item song. Why so? “The phrase item song has been coined by us,” Sunidhi stated, “Jis gaane pe dance karte hain use item song bolte hain. It’s a nice club song.” And for the audience gathered, she did sing a few lines from the song as well.

Music director Santosh, who himself crooned the title song, said, “I loved the script of the movie and it took us nearly 4-5 months to complete the music. There is a rock song ‘Life Saali Life’ sung Mika Singh. Then there is Pinky Punjabi by Sunidhi and many more.” The music album has three fresh, original songs plus two remixes by Syed Faiz, Ali ‘Faizi’ and Santokh Singh Dhaliwal.

Bumboo is based on an original French story ‘L’Emmerduer’ written by Francis Veber and is considered a classic in France. The story is based on the idea that life is like a game where one tends to meet numerous people with varied tastes and interests. They can not only add excitement and variety but can also create problems.

The movie also stars Sanjay Mishra, Sudhir Pandey, Kavin Dave and Mandy Takhar.
