Bipasha Basu, John Abraham and Arshad Warsi were recently shooting in London for Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film Goal.
Unfortunately, Bipasha and Arshad faced various racial remarks when they were at a traffic signal. They had two white guys rapping a song which poked fun at Indians. However, both stars maintain that they are unfazed by it.
Vivek, the director of Goal says, “John, Bipasha, Arshad and many others used to shoot for long football sequences and that was very ugly. These goras used to pass many remarks about our skin colour, the fact that we are Indians and the superiority complex they had. There have been times when I have heard racist comments such as ‘Bloody Indian’ and ‘Go back to your own country’. However, I have always managed to keep my unit calm enough to never react. I have always told them to concentrate on their work instead of getting in an ugly war of words.”
As Tony Blair said that his country is not racist hence, we can only hope that this year’s IIFA awards which are set to be held in Yorkshire will go smoothly.
