Everyone knows, the so-called A-listers no longer bring bums to the seats. Akshay Kumar, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranveer Singh… they’ve all underperformed with their recent films. So, who are the A-listers likely to deliver in 2025?

Kartik Aaryan: His Bhool Bhulaiya 3 in 2024 broke records. In 2025, Kartik lets loose a double cannon. Both seriously romantic films. Sameer Vidwans made his Hindi debut with Satyaprem Ki Katha in 2023. The tender love story turned out to be a box-office smash. Understandably, the trio of Kartik Aaryan, Sameer Vidwans, and producer Sajid Nadiadwala was expected to return for an emphatic encore. But now Vidwans has shifted his project to Karan Johar and Dharma Productions for both creative and financial reasons. While the leading man of the Vidwans-Dharma venture is, of course, Kartik Aaryan, the leading lady is yet to be decided. Kartik’s other project for 2025 is Anurag Basu’s untitled film, formerly known as Aashiqui 3; the film is said to be Anurag Basu’s most intensely romantic film to date.

Ranbir Kapoor: After a blockbuster like Animal where does Ranbir Kapoor go? The answer is… Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The master creator who had a fall-out with his protégé after the debutant’s Saawariya is back with Ranbir in Love & War. Ranbir is said to have delivered a truly earnest performance in Bhansali’s love epic. The love triangle featuring Ranbir, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal is likely to take Ranbir’s stardom even further.

Vicky Kaushal: Slow & Steady wins the race. Who exemplifies the tortoise logic better than Vicky Kaushal? Within the span of one year, he has gone from Bad Newz to good news in Chhaava. The historical drama has Kaushal in a make-or-break role as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Advance reports are most encouraging. Preview audiences say Chhaava will take Vicky Kaushal’s career to the next level.
