Lord Krishna is not only a universal deity but a guiding force across the globe. In India, his own land, Lord Krishna is present in his many avatars and his followers cherish his many forms. One of the most mesmerizing phases of Lord Krishna’s life is his childhood. ‘Little Krishna’ is the most adorable, naughty, brave & darling of many popular legends. In particular, the ‘Little Krishna’ animation that had a huge successful run on international kids channel, is one of the highest ever-rated programs in the kid’s genre.

‘Little Krishna’ is a result of seven years of painstaking research work, handpicked from the chronicles of Krishna. This 3D computer-animated series, has found a ready audience among Indian kids, who just cannot seem to get enough of their favorite mythological hero.

Co-created by BIG Animation and The Indian Heritage Foundation (promoted by ISKCON, Bangalore), a team of 280 artists has worked on this project which was directed by Vincent Edwards who has earlier worked on Spider Man: TV Series and Bala as the art and animation Director.

Catering to this popular demand, Reliance BIG Home Video has launched the three telefilms based on Little Kishna’s life, titled ‘The Darling of Vrindavan’, ‘The Legendary Warrior’ and ‘The Wondrous Feats’. The stories released on DVDs and VCDs are premiering straight on the home video format. The high point is that the entire series has been created in English. So Little Krishna and his friends will be regaling the English speaking audience with stories seeped in Indian culture.

Each film is of 84 minutes duration. The single DVD is priced at Rs. 299 and the 2 Vcd pack is priced at Rs. 149. The English DVD also contains bonus features including ‘The Making of Little Krishna’, ‘Bad Eggs — An animated Short Film’ and ‘Big Bees Song’. The making of the series requires a special mention. The series has been scripted by Emmy Award winner Jeffrey Scott and researched by India Heritage Foundation. A highly talented techno creative team of 280 artists has worked on the project. Little doubt, that the making of the ‘Little Krishna’, itself makes for an interesting & entertaining watch. The ‘Bad Eggs’ short film, developed by BIG Animation, has won the prestigious Digicon International Award at Japan and Gold Medal at New York Festival in the year 2007. The ‘Big Bees’ song itself is a precursor and introduction to ‘BIG BEES’ animated series.

Sweta Agnihotri, Chief Operating Officer of Reliance BIG Home Video, elaborates, “We had great success with the Hindi telefilms that was launched a month ago.
