3. Genelia D’ Souza (Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Mere Baap Pehle Aap)
Now who saw this coming? I don’t think anyone expected Genelia D’Souza to be such a livewire on-screen. It’s so rare to see a young actress with such immense screen presence—one that commands attention! Though she didn’t have much to do in Mere Baap Pehle Aap, her work in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na was such a crowd-pleaser that this list would be incomplete without her. It seems as if while working in the South, Genelia has fine-tuned her acting skills and returned with a big bang. She makes acting look effortless. Truly, she’s absolute dynamite on screen which is such a refreshing change from some of the mundane actresses we have to put up with! I’m sure that for several audience members, she will always be remembered as Aditi, or rather, Meow!
