Demand for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan never seems to waiver despite the fate of her films at the box office or in the eyes of critics. Even after Raavan fell below expectations the actress continues to be in demand by the biggest names in the industry. The latest name to be added to the list is of Vishal Bhardwaj who is still vividly remembered for critical acclaimed films like Omkara and Kaminey.
It seems though that Vishal’s impressive filmography didn’t impress Mrs Bachchan initially and he had to work rather hard to finally get a nod from the ex Miss World. Sources have revealed that Ash has been offered films by Vishal on two occasions. Once for his debut film and once in the in the very recently – Saath Khoon Maaf, a film that now has gone to Priyanka Chopra due to unavailability of Ash’s dates. The date problem was apparently a genuine issue here as Ash loved the script but already had five releases for 2010 and Vishal really didn’t want to put off the project any longer.
However as it is in tinsel town, every detail remains to be a another statement said in a game of Chinese whispers until heard from the horse’s mouth themselves and indeed that has happened. Aishwarya herself confirmed to a leading newspaper, “Yes, Vishal and I have been meaning to work together for quite some time. Things are working out now. He feels I`ve been saying no far too often, but it wasn`t my fault. Things finally are falling into place,” she was quoted saying.
Well looks like we have one hell of an exciting venture in sight with the coming together of two of the finest in their fields. Vishal is known to transform the careers of women in his films and Ash, despite the failure of Raavan, remains to be riding high as critics continue to praise her for her flawless portrayal of Ragini in the Mani Ratnam drama.
