Which Indian designer should replace John Galliano?

Manish Arora

Internationally, as Indian designers go, I feel that Manish Arora has had the most success; he has recently taken over as creative director for French fashion house Paco Rabanne, shown his own collections in London and Paris Fashion week, his clothing is stocked in international stores such as Harrods, and his clientele includes celebrities such as Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, M.I.A, Britney Spears and Rihanna, plus many more.

Often referred to as the ‘John Galliano’ of India, this designer has certainly proved he has what it takes to head Dior as creative director. I do feel that Manish Arora may have to tone down his designs a little bit so they fit in with the vibe of Dior but apart from that I do think this pairing would take the fashion world by storm if it were to happen. Whether taking on the role at Dior would mean Manish Arora is taking on too much at one go is perhaps another question.
