It may have past the year mark for the national award winning Dabangg but actor and producer Arbaaz Khan has marked the occasion by revealing that he has begun work on the sequel, even completing the first draft.
Arbaaz said while attending the Global Indian Music Awards, “Work on Dabangg 2 is on. We are waiting for Salman (Khan) bhai’s dates. We are likely to begin the production in mid-September next year.”
During an Eid party attended by the Dabangg team, Salman suggested that they do the sequel sooner than later to which all agreed and director Abhinav Kashyap was briefed on the plan. Sonu Sood, the small town politician who will also have a role in the sequel said, “Salman was the most charged person at his Eid party. We were all in a mood to celebrate. When Salman suggested we do the sequel, we started discussing it very seriously. I can’t reveal too many details at the moment. But yes, my character Chedi Singh will have a twin brother in the sequel.”
The Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha starrer became the biggest blockbuster in 2010 earning Rs. 145 crore. Not only that but the film won multiple awards all around during the award season.
Despite the roaring appraise that the team has received, producer Arbaaz Khan admits, “There is a little nervousness for sure as the expectations are high but we would definitely be presenting something good and interesting.”
