Sanjay Gadhvi in a Legal Mess

Director of the Dhoom series and Kidnap, Sanjay Gadhvi, has found himself embroiled in a legal case. Indian Film Company (IFC) has filed a case of cheating against him under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code. The case was filed on June 5 at a Delhi court.

The production company, headed by noted director Shyam Benegal, has claimed losses of 5.2 crore in addition to other losses because of Sanjay’s negligence towards his work. Sanjay was supposed to complete the script of 7 Days In Paris long time back- the concept was approved by IFC in October 2008- but he fell back on his promise. As a result Imran Khan and Katrina Kaif, who had allocated their dates to the movie, backed out of the project. IFC then got Neil Nitin Mukesh and Genelia D’souza to star in the movie. Even the location hunting had begun with teams having been sent to places like Paris, Prague. However Sanjay has still not delivered the final script. Which is why IFC finally decided to take legal action against him.

Amit Khullar, Sanjay Gadhvi’s representative, refuted the reports and said that they have not received any legal notice. Sanjay had been signed for a two-film deal with IFC in January 2008.
