Known for making realistic, hard-hitting movies, National Award winning director Madhur Bhandarkar seems to have taken a complete u-turn with his next movie. Directing a comedy for the first time, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji (DTBHJ) – releasing on 28th January next year, seems like an interesting Madhur product worth looking forward to.
The first look unveil of Madhur Bhandarkar’s much awaited film “Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji” (DTBHJ), produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Bhandarkar Entertainment, took place amidst high fanfare at Cinemax, one of the suburban Multiplexes in Mumbai, on 27th of November, later in the evening. The event was well attended by the cast and crew of the film, which included Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya, Shruti Hassan, Shazahn Padamsee, Shraddha Das, Director Madhur Bhandarkar and Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak and other technicians. The event started off with unveiling of the 1st Teaser Promo of the film, followed by the question and answer session of the cast & crew of DTBHJ with the media.
The film boasts of a huge starcast of Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, OmiVaidya, Shruti Hasan, Shazahn Padamsee and Shraddha Das. Produced under the banner of Bhandarkar Entertainment (Traffic Signal, Fashion) and Kumar Mangat Pathak’s Wide Frame Pictures(Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge), the music is given by Pritam. DTBHJ is the story of three men and their roller coaster love lives. Naren Ahuja(Devgan) is a thirty-something divorcee finds love again when he meets the bubbly and full-of-life June Pinto(Shazahn of RocketSingh fame). Meanwhile Milind Kelkar aka Omi/Chatur of 3 Idiots is a shy, idealistic lover who gets attracted to the headstrong Gunjan Sarkar( South find Shraddha Das). And the third character Abhay (Emraan) – who only cares for sex and money – finds himself falling for the rebellious Nikki (Shruti Hasan). With the couples having so much dissimilarities between them, will their love succeed? That’s what we will have to find when the film hits the screens next year.
DTBHJ looks like a breather from mindless trash being churned out in recent times in the name of comedy. Lets hope this one manages to win our ‘Dil’!
