Ranbir Kapoor was recently spotted shooting for the promotional ad of the upcoming 59th Filmfare award. Reports have it that Ranbir will be host of the ceremony to be held in January 2014 along with his Barfi co-star Priyanka Chopra.
Earlier this week, Farhan Akhtar was in the capital Delhi at a press conference held to announce the awards along with Mr. Tarun Rai – CEO, Worldwide Media and Mr. Rajat Mukarji, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Idea Cellular.
“It has been another astounding year for Bollywood. More than 130 films produced – films that have been huge commercial successes and have won critical acclaim. For the first time seven films have crossed the Rs.100 crore mark. It will be a tough task for the Filmfare readers and jury to select the winners as we have both popular and critics’ awards. And, of course, you can look forward to a spectacular Awards night. It will be nothing like what we have done before or people have seen so far,” said Tarun Rai.
While the pre-celebrations to announce and applaud the nominees will be held on 15th January 2014, the main award ceremony of the 59th Filmfare awards will take place on January 24, 2014 at the Yash Raj Studios in Mumbai.
