1. Shah Rukh Khan @iamsrk

It is no surprise that Bollywood’s Number 1 Tweeter is Shah Rukh Khan. Another actor who uses Twitter to express his feelings and emotions, he takes time to read and reply to messages sent to him in such a way that can be read by everyone who follows him. His Q & A sessions cover a variety of questions from what his favorite soft drink is to what his family is doing(usually asleep when he’s tweeting!) Shah Rukh epitomizes what being a devoted husband and father is. He is one man who isn’t afraid to show his true emotions and openly expresses his love for his wife and children.
Also wedding anniversary today…19 years of togetherness and two angels to show for it. By far our best productions.

spent 8 hours ( travel, wait etc ) to do a 30 second shot…hate it. need to get today out of my head & off my back. need hugs from my kids

Tweeting about the Pakistan-India cricket controversy involving Shiv Sena, King Khan tweeted: if my partners lose so be it. if i lose so be it.my stardom is transient.
my integrity is non negotiable…my being indian unquestionable.

And while a number of stars hopped on the Twitter bandwagon, there was one prominent actor who decided to abandon ship: Imran Khan. Deciding that the social networking site was a bit ‘intrusive’, without much notice, he disappeared off Twitter having fans scratching their heads wondering why.

Who can forget all the controversies that Bollywood has created vis-a-vis Twitter? We saw Sonam Kapoor and Punit Malhotra call out Shobhaa De on the social networking platform after reading her review of I Hate Luv Storys. The nasty name-calling resulted in a weak apology from Sonam. Akshay Kumar too found himself in the midst of a situation when a prominent journalist claimed a hospital visit of his was not genuine. Amitabh Bachchan came on board to support and defend Kumar while the journalist stood firmly by his statement. And of course, Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma went on to talk smack about one another as they dissed their films nonstop in 2010.

Will Twitter reign supreme in 2011? Time will tell and of course, you can be sure we’ll be following all our favorite stars!
